Synopsis
---------------
At WormWood High School, everyone is Supernatural. From Demonic Teachers (literally) to little impish Freshmen (also literally ), the halls of WormWood High are never peaceful...or boring for that matter.

Ash, a Sophmore at the school, is something of an idol to the other students in her grade, but not by choice. Far from it. Actually, she hates the attention. Unknown to her ignorant admirers, she wishes she could "cut their freaking legs off" or "blow up the damn school."

So, what happens when she gets her hands on something that will let her do just that?

Mayhem.

And Hillarity.

Ashley "Ash" Reinhardt:

Ash is, in simple terms, a very angry girl. Yet being a Vampire from a rich family, smart, athletic, attractive, and the top violin player in the school orchestra, it’s not hard to see why she is adored by her classmates (despite her nonchalant and even slightly venomous, attitude towards most people who come her way). She hates the attention though. She prefers being left alone than being swamped with admirers who like her for a false image she didn’t even set up. Although she doesn’t have many real friends (most the people who call her a friend, she hates) the few she has are very close and precious to her, usually shown through acts of quiet affection and uncharacteristic kindness. Sometimes, she wishes she could run away from all the stress placed on her by her parents and peers. Despite her “tough girl” persona, Ash is a tree-hugger (her main reason for disliking people) and has a horrible case of arachnophobia. She gets embarrassed easily and reacts strongly to overly loving behavior.

Autumn Yates:

From a distant view, Autumn can be seen as elegant, intelligent, caring, nurturing, and beautiful. Almost perfect. Yet it’s this image, her own ambition for success, and her death that causes Autumn a great deal of inner turmoil and stress. While Ash suffers from a lot of outside stress, Autumn’s inner demons sometimes manifest in surprisingly volatile ways, sometimes resulting in anxiety attacks, biting remarks, or poltergeist activity. But when she’s not suffering from self destructive anxiety, Autumn is level-headed and a great person to talk to about problems, since she always has good advice and a willingness to help. She has a bad habit of teasing people, much to the frustration of her friends and the many boys chasing her. Autumn also has a strong ambition to go into a literary career.

Mint Talbot:

As if to balance out her calm and moody friends, Mint always seems to pop into a situation with her bubbly personality. She is almost unbelievably optimistic and can even cheer up Ash with her cute antics. Mint does the worst in school compared to her friends, but it’s because of the broken family she comes from. Though she hides it well, Mint has to work all the time in order to help her sick and single mother to keep their already run-down apartment and support her six younger siblings. Mint sometimes relives nightmares of the rainy night her father left them. However, Mint sometimes shows the wisest understanding of life because she is able to cope with her conditions with a smile. Her unseen strength comes in the form of being able to maintain her happiness and actually infect others with it.

Renee "Ren" Tunone:

Quiet possibly the most awkward person in the school, Ren is boyish-looking girl that has problems dealing with her job as a Reaper. Being the Spirit of Death for people ages eighteen and under, Ren is often seen moping around and avoiding eye contact with people by either pulling her hood lower on her face or covering her eyes with her long bangs. However, people do not see her as a regret-ridden tomboy, but are instead frightened of her. Ren has difficulty expressing herself, and her slightly obsessive-compulsive behavior of hiding her face is often seen as a threatening act. She emanates a natural aura of fear and hates it. She wishes she could just be left alone to draw and paint (though aspects of her job manifest in her paintings, adding to her dark image). Ren often has problems dealing with gender confusion and being popular with girls.

Antonio "Tony" (or Ant...whichever) Reinhardt:

In a sharp contrast to the rest of his serious and dark family, Tony is a giddy young boy who is almost annoyingly curious about everything. His playful behavior can get repetitive and frustrating (especially to his sister) but he always means well. Though Ash would never admit it, Tony is the single person in the family she really cares about, because he accepts her for how she is and never asks her to change. And he knows that. Tony actually takes it upon himself to be Ash’s source of fun and relief from the life she is forced to lead. Even though his parents consider him hopeless compared to his two older siblings, Tony doesn’t mind as long as he can help his older sister. Despite being the “black sheep”, he still shares the family’s bad habit of brooding in the rare cases he gets upset. Tony plays the Cello in the school orchestra with Ash and sometimes gets her to play duets with him at home.

Chapter 1 "Wishes" Overview / Teaser
---------------

One morning walking to class, Ash runs into a girl carrying a giant scythe. The girl is a Spirit of Death, the Grim Reaper, etc.

It turns out that the girl is in Ash's class, and her name is Ren. Ash is paired up with Ren for an in-class assignment and gets to know her a little and strangely, Ren isn't quite as scary as she looks, quite the opposite in fact.

Later on in the day, Ash sees Ren again, but before she can even say hi, Ash sees Ren throw away her scythe in frustration and bolt off somewhere.

Suddenly, as Ash approaches the discarded scythe, she realizes something...all those death threats...all those useless people she ever wanted to get rid of...could now come true...
