Tayen is a young Halfling from the North. She's quiet and demure for a Dwarf, but still packs that punch her people are known for.
She can be quick to temper, but for the most part, she's a gentle and bashful little thing that would rather play her lyre and sing in peace.
As a customary rite of passage for Dwarves, she's on a journey to hone her strengths. But somehow she ended up in a mercenary troupe with rowdy lowlifes
. At least every day is interesting
I've been wanting to design a short, curvy tomboy a while! Tay is a really interesting blend of tough and cute, and just UGH yes her proportions make me so happy.
She's a Dwarf, one of the races of Halflings in the world we're developing. Me and Bee wanted all the Halfling races to have slight animal features so they'd always be fuzzy one way or another.
Tay's got some fierce mutton chops, and will probably grow a badass beard when she's older.
The Northern Halflings are based on Viking/Nordic and Celtic cultures.
Unlike typical high fantasy Dwarves, they don't mine and are always traveling on the seas. Well known for pillaging and pirating, these stout, powerful warriors are no less dignified.
Most of the Northern races (Dwarves, Jotuns/Dark Elves, Nomads/humans, and Ogres) are famous for their embellished braids and musical talents.
The troupe Tay travels with is generally made up of Northern people, and they have musical parties around the campfire.
Tayen's lyre is based on the Norwegian Lyre (and for anyone curious, Elliel plays a Zhaleika flute)
