Retavadi is an assassin from the South. Silent and deadly, he hides a tragic past behind his sharp blade.
He's serious, hard to amuse, but surprisingly difficult to offend. If anything, he could be faulted for his coldness and seemingly unfeeling nature, but it's appropriate for his lifestyle.
On the rare occasion his family is threatened, he can have desperate and violent outbursts.
He has a sick sister back home who he sends money to, but little does he know, she's been looking for him for the past few years.
ONE MORE CHARACTER, SORRY.
I'm working on another batch and was originally gonna have Reta in that group, but I ended up finishing him last night. So have him!
Reta is a Southern Elf, the other race of dark elves. The culture is based heavily on Indian, Persian, and generally Middle Eastern vibes (sourcing a lot of Ottoman stuff).
Known as the Djinn, the desert Elves are well known for their trade and artistry. Unlike their underground Northern counterparts, they live under the heavy sun and specialize in animal herding, weaving/embroidery, and bronze-work.
They live in good harmony with most of the other races in the area and have a long and illustrious royal line.
Originally, the Djinn had purple skin like the Jotuns, but I felt they didn't look different enough that way. I had a revelation to make them blue-skinned, much like the way many Hindu gods and avatars are portrayed. I personally love the result.
Red hair is a common feature, ranging from fiery orange, to deep rich magentas. This is based on the Muslim tradition of dyeing hair with Henna, though in this case I guess it would happen "naturally" haha.
