Metropolis | the Thin Man

Description

Earlier this week I finally watched the classic masterpiece by Fritz Lang, Metropolis
While the story of the movie was a little disappointingly simple, I can definitely see why it's heralded as such a great work, and I'm glad I watched it.

While there were a lot of visuals I loved from the film, the character that got to me the most was Joh Fredersen's agent, "the Thin Man."
There was something really imposing and stoic about him that struck me like no other.
Sadly he didn't amount to that much in the film as far as a villain goes, but he was my favorite.

I might draw the MachineMan, Hel, but I doubt I'll have the motivation for it

Hope you guys like this though, and I do suggest you watch Metropolis if you're interested in cinematography.

And don't worry, me and Bee are working on PT!
Things have been kind of hectic for both of us, but there is progress!
In the meantime, just a small reminder that we have a:

Tumblr (for works in progress, small behind-the-scenes, and inspiration music/photos/fashion)

And a dA Group, which was made earlier last week :)
All our collaboration works will go there in the future, so be sure to watch the group!

I love this movie!! It's probably my favourite movie right now!
My favourite character is Rotwang because he is so mad and sciency! It's so tragic how he is the victim of his own folly; he sacrificed his hand to bring back his love, and he sacrificed his love to get his revenge.
My brother's favourite character is Grot, because he is the only one with a moducrum of common sense!
The Thin Man, however, has a special place in my heart! I love the idea of Freder's shadow skulking the streets of his own cities to serve his agenda! It just makes it the more awesome when it is he who explain to Freder the consequences of his actions.
