This isn't the style we're using for this project, but I really love doing cartoony studies for character designs because you can minimize the color palette and solidify shape language and silhouette. This was a blast to do, lemme know what you guys think!

the pink and the purple are sort of close in color. they contrast well on atka, but the pink bow on sika isn't really standing out from the purple skirt. if you're going with a limited color pallette, you may want to make sure that the colors stand out from each other. maybe go with the purple you used here? i'm no professional, though, and i'm pointing out something hardly even noticeable. your art is pretty damn amazing regardless of my advice, so do what you want.
Yeah, I actually struggled with the purples on Sika a bit, but the colors i used on her original study (the one you linked) weren't reading well on Atka for some reason (too magenta, I think?) Haha, but in the end, the bow isn't as important to her design as the gold trim that separates her top from the skirt, so sacrifices had to be made
Thank you though! Both for liking it and giving suggestions!
