I'm so sorrytake me back babyKye and Rilu! Their story definitely seems to fit into the Avatar world, because it is both awesome and fun. I love the palette you've used here, the range of warm and cool colors, and the flow of semi-detailed and broad-stroked forms. Especially how Rilu's hair looks like the water and Kye's braid looks like the falling rocks. It's nice to have a piece that shows off their bending, and the style really makes them pop. Action poses FTW!
I think the detail around their faces is what makes the rest of it seem so realistic - the eye focuses on the faces first and assumes the rest is just as detailed? I don't know. There's some psychology thing I'm missing here.
Also KORRA AWRUESIRKYXLFG;JODRKYFC,H THE SERIES WAS EVERYTHING I WANTED AND MORE
bby ill always take u bakI've been playing a lot with implication of form when it comes to painting, so happy you think so!
I have a ways to go still, but little steps like this picture make me think I'll get it eventually.
But you're actually right, the mind fills in detail for us. There's a scientific reason for it, but I can't remember where that article went
THANK YOU AND YES AHH I REALLY LOVED THE ANIMATION IN KORRA
